New Years Update (1/2/2017)
Dear BPA Families, We look forward to seeing YOU tomorrow morning! As we begin the second half of our school year we too have made some New Year resolutions. Our focus has always been to serve the community to the best of our ability. The safety, health, and academics of our children are of the upmost importance. Therefore, we have created some mild changes to our morning drop-off and breakfast routine. Please take a moment to read carefully the changes occurring Jan 3, 2017. Breakfast will no longer be in our school building, this includes students who bring food from other establishments (pancakes, eggs, slurpee’s, coffees, fraps, etc.). Our Line for drop off will begin after 7:30 and students will report to the cafeteria if eating breakfast (cost: $1.50 if not free and or reduced). If no breakfast is needed drop off will still occur after 7:45 to report directly to class with no food in hand. All breakfast must be eaten in the cafeteria. Students will be dismissed no later than 7:55 a.m. from the cafeteria to report to class. This will ensure that teachers can begin instruction promptly at 8:00am, starting with our daily morning character trait discussion. If a child arrives to school after 7:55 the child will have missed breakfast for that day. The cafeteria closes at 7:55 and no food will be taken to the classrooms. Please be mindful of this change as you bring your child to school daily. Our decision to move in this direction is based on the amount of food left and brought into our learning environments. Clean desks (that are shared), maintaining floors & trash, spills, and waste impact our ability to focus on academics in a timely manner. I can’t thank you enough for assisting in this new approach. I appreciate your patience and support during this morning transition. Our students have from 7:30 until 7:55 to eat a healthy school breakfast and be ready for learning with no distractions and or delays. Happy New Year!! It is wonderful to have you part of our BridgePrep Tampa family. Don’t hesitate to reach out anytime! :D Sincerely, Christine Harris Principal |
